of MSPSN, is set up in a game format where teams make all the decisions about marketing, sales, operations, HR and finance for a managed services provider -- and own the results. By going through the exercise, participants will gain valuable business knowledge, as well as learn techniques and strategies to improve their profits. ! You will walk away with: Luby and team realized that one of the largest stumbling blocks for entrepreneurs in the IT industry was in understanding the finance model of running a services oriented organization. So, MSPSN set out to find a way to help improve the financial literacy and business acumen of entrepreneurs in the IT industry. MSPSN partnered with Andromeda Training who has been delivering business simulations since 1993, and together they developed the first business simulation game specifically focused on the IT Services Industry. The MSPSN Business Simulation experience provides a platform for discussing the industry transition away from the single-sale model to the recurring-revenue model and gives them a visual tool for understanding all these items in an IT-specific context in a fun and competitive game format. Key outcomes include understanding financial statements (income statement and balance sheet), the importance of cash flow, the difference between cash flow and profit, fixed and variable costs, and the opportunities and threats of a changing marketplace. They will see how a decision made in one area will impact not just the bottom line, but also the ability to make good decisions in other areas.
